Court Presentation Ensemble
Boué Soeurs
1928
Presentation at the Court of Saint James’s was a momentous social accomplishment for many women. The Boué Soeurs costume, which was worn by Mrs.George Henry O’Neil, the former Bertha Fadelhan Drake, for presentation before George V in June 1928, has a train, headdress, and fan, all made to conform to the dress rules that governed the occasion at the time. The train is detachable so that the dress could quite easily be worn for dancing after the court ceremonies had concluded. Though the robe de style silhouette, with its structural panniers, is reminiscent of the eighteenth century, the dress’s body-obliterating shape and light, translucent layers reveal its twentieth-century origins

Team April

With the way things ended i’m sure there’s a sequel to this book. I am still not over about the twist of the story. I’m not happy with the way things ended. Leaving us hanging like that is one of the reasons.

I’m just going to be honest and admit that i am hoping that if there will be a second book that April and Luke will still get together somehow. The way JJ build up Luke’s relationship between April and Holly. I was more convinced with April. And the twist towards the end shocked me, disappointed me sure. But because of how convinced I am with Luke and April’s fling, romance whatever you call it, i’m hoping.

Reading a twist, disappointments, and a non happy ending (well for me) should not have shocked me. This book being promoted by the one author who likes flaws with her characters and the one who doesn’t like a happy ending Tarryn Fisher (that’s why she’s one of my favorites by the way) I should’ve have known better than to expect a happy ending and perfect characters. Now that I have that clear in my head. I understand why JJ wrote April’s character that way.

And is it too early and assuming to say i’m Team April? :)

Introduction

This is my second attempt at fashion blogging. The first blog, what a failure! I got into a lot of things and my goal that I only blog about fashion did not really happen…I guess I really just wasn’t into blogging at that time. But now I’m more inspired, following my dreams, studying fashion styling, and that the fact that this blog and introduction is our project for Journalism, is a great start to get serious.

This time I’m just going to be myself, maybe be more interesting and keep this blog up to date about fashion of course, just fashion.

To properly introduce myself, I’m 23 and currently studying Fashion Styling. I describe my style as to what everybody keeps on telling me, a mixture of modern hippie and boho chic. Some of you probably thought boho and hipster are the same style. I did! Well that time when I was not yet aware of the different subculture’s in fashion. Anyways, awareness happened and I became more conscious of what and where to buy my stuff.

Fashion is very important to me especially styling because it’s the art I’m very passionate about. When I see new trends on the runways, or magazines I get this feeling of excitement. Actually when I was in high school I wanted to be a fashion designer. And at that time I was very ignorant about the fashion industry so I didn’t really know about stylists.

When did I realize that I want to be a stylist? Well, before I watch a lot of variety shows on local tv. I was always fascinated by what the celebrities would wear during their prod numbers. And I wanted to be the one to dress them. Make them look fine on tv. Sometimes I would get so judgy that I will not care for celebrities who don’t have any sense of style. On the other hand I will like any celebrity right off the bat if I love what outfit they wore. My first impression on people is base on the way they dress. Yep! Lol. So that’s the story…

My goal, become a stylist. Having this blog will help me prepare myself for that.

Expect my favorite things from clothes, ads, magazine covers, fashion runways, trends, hair and makeup looks, celebrities’ red carpet looks, ootd, ootn, street style and more.

Thank you.
